However, the Tantrik did not tell this to the princess. The Tantrik thought of controlling the princess with his magic. To fulfill his intention, the Tantrik went to the shop of the merchant from where the perfume for the princess was sent.
The tantrik performed black magic on the perfume bottle that was kept ready for the princess. When that perfume bottle reached Princess Ratnavati, the bottle suddenly fell down and smashed against a stone and all the magical perfume spilled on that stone.
That tantrik had cast such a spell on the perfume that whoever would apply it would fall in love with that tantrik. Due to this spell, the stone on which the perfume had fallen started moving towards that tantrik.
That stone crushed the Tantrik due to his magic. But before being crushed to death, the Tantrik cursed Bhangarh to be destroyed. Some time after this curse, a terrible war took place in which Bhangarh was destroyed and the people living in the Bhangarh fort were killed.
The Shadow of the Fort and The Ascetic’s Wrath
Many people say that the land on which Bhangarh fort is built belonged to a powerful ascetic Balunath before the fort was built. Before starting the construction of Bhangarh fort, Madho Singh had sought permission from that ascetic.
Guru Balunath allowed them to build the fort on one condition and that condition was that the shadow of the fort should never fall on their house otherwise something bad might happen to them.
With time, this condition was forgotten or ignored and a fort was built with strong walls. And what was not supposed to happen happened. The shadow of the newly built Bhangarh fort started falling on the house of Tapasvi Balunath.
Angered by this, the ascetic cursed Bhangarh. Due to which the Bhangarh fort and its surrounding areas were ruined.
