Manushi Chillar is an Indian actress as well as a model. After participating in the competition, Manushi was crowned “Miss World” 2017. She won this competition and brought laurels to Haryana. She became the sixth Indian to win the Miss World title. Manushi has worked in many films. Manushi Chillar was born in Rohtak district of Haryana. Her father Dr. Mitra Basu Chillar (Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) scientist and mother Dr. Neelam Chillar is Associate Professor and Head of Department of Neurochemistry at the Institute of Human Behavior and Allied Sciences. Manushi did her schooling from “St. Thomas School” in Delhi. Manushi passed the NEET exam in her first attempt. Manushi passed MBBS degree from “Bhagat Phool Singh Medical College” in Sonipat.

After becoming Miss World, Manushi Chillar started her career in Hindi films with Aditya Chopra’s film “Samrat Prithviraj”. Akshay Kumar was with her in this film. She was dating Zerodha co-founder and businessman Nikhil Kamath for 14 years. They started living in “live-in” with each other. They wanted to keep this relationship secret. But during the FIFA World Cup, they were seen in Rishikesh and Lusail Stadium in Qatar. Both broke up in 2021.
The reason for the breakup is the entry of Rhea Chakraborty in Nikhil Kamath’s life. Manushi and Nikhil had unfollowed each other. Both broke up after a few months. - Congress leader Rashi Tharoor has compared Miss World 2017 Manushi Chillar’s nickname to ‘loose notes’. Tharoor wrote on Twitter, “BJP should have understood what a big mistake it made by banning our notes.” He said that our Chillar has also become Miss World. ‘Chillar’ is the Hindi word used for ‘loose notes’.
- Manushi Chillar replied to Tharoor on Twitter, “A girl who has won the world will not be affected by anyone making fun of her. ‘Chillar’ is just a small thing. There will be more to come.”
- Tharoor returned to Twitter after his earlier messages and wrote, “I apologise to those who were offended by my light-hearted words on Twitter. I certainly did not mean to offend the young girl, but I did respond with praise.”

- Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia, winner of Femina Miss World 2002, trained her for the competition. The 20-year-old also briefly trained with supermodel Alessia Raut, who has served as the official ramp walk trainer for the Femina Miss India and Miss India Universe contests.
- Manushi Chillar won the ‘Head to Head’ challenge as well as the ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ title and decided to support Project Shakti. She spread awareness about menstrual hygiene by making doras in 20 villages and speaking to 5000 women.
- Manushi has learned classical Kuchipudi from the famous dancer “Raja Radha” and Kaushalya Reddy. She is an accomplished poet and painter.
